Mediplacements is looking for a skilled and experienced band 4/5 Histology Biomedical Scientist to fill an ongoing locum role in our clients laboratory based in Surrey. This position is due to start as soon as possible with a pay rate of GBP18: GBP20 per hour. Working Days and Hours: Mon: Fri/ 08:30:17:00 (1 hr lunch)Expected duration of booking:3 months (with a weeks trial to begin with)Description of duties: Embedding, Microtomy, Special stains, quality checking of slides, IHC depending on experience, fixed specimen transfers depending on experience, other duties that will help the flow of the histology lab. Specific skills required? Histology experience in embedding, microtomy, special stains techniques including quality checking. Specialist experience in processing, embedding, microtomy. Some experience in IHC, fixed specimen transfers is desirable. The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and have experience with histology techniques such as embedding, sectioning, staining, and reporting of histology specimens. They must also be familiar with the use of a range of laboratory equipment and be able to troubleshoot and maintain them as required.
