Working with the entire 7-person Chapter team, while directly supervised by the Executive Director, the Development Assistant will be responsible for work that will involve supporting specific components of our core fundraising and community building activities; Gala, One Walk, Ride for a Cure, Community Engagement, Advocacy, Other Special Events and other fundraising activities. Additional support functions will include but are not limited to the areas of digital communications and social media, event logistics and software data entry, donor stewardship, operations, office administrative duties, and volunteer engagement.This position is based out of the Minnesota & Dakotas chapter office in Bloomington, MN with flexibility for hybrid work from home options. This will require comfort with, and confidence in, direct staff and supporter work accomplished both through in person and video teleconferencing means. In-person staff, volunteer and community gatherings will occasionally be required. On-site event participation will also be required as assigned.Responsibilities * Maintain a basic understanding of JDRF's mission and research therapeutics. * Administrative support for fundraising events including vendor support, auction procurement, volunteer management and logistics support. * Support fundraising and other mission activities designed to build relationships with donor prospects, supporting solicitations, tracking and acknowledging donations, and preparing information needed for meetings. * Assists in the functioning of the Chapter's daily office operations, projects, and tasks. * Learn and effectively utilize key systems and tools including Luminate Online; Greater Giving; One Cause, Event Brite, Salesforce/CRM; Sales Force Marketing Cloud; Wordpress; and others as determined necessary. * Perform data entry into the various project management platforms, as assigned, to ensure event information is current according to policies and standards. * Assists with volunteer recruitment, assignments, and management as needed. * Assists in managing digital communication channels, including website updates, email campaigns, and social media platforms. * Create engaging content to promote events, fundraising initiatives, and organizational updates * Plan and coordinate meetings, agendas, and activities as requested. Prepare PowerPoint presentations and meeting support materials as assigned. * Certifies accurate recording of information in database, file system, and/or records. Creates, updates, and revises reports and dashboards as needed. * Manage chapter Outlook calendar and inbox and maintain supply inventory for office and chapter events. * Ensures personal accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to volunteers and other department requests. * Keeps steady communication between team members and committee leaders. * Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or senior management * Comply with JDRF's financial policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and complete financial records as required. * Respond to and follow through with all inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner. * Ensure the confidentiality and security of all proprietary information.Qualifications* 2 years of work experience (administrative or relevant business/volunteer) preferred * Fundraising and event support experience preferred * Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player* Proficiency Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and office equipment * Familiarity with databases (Salesforce, Convio and Greater Giving) preferred.* Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources,planning, and resource allocation, as well as ability to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence, manage files and records, and coordinate other office procedures. * Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers and demonstrate an 'all hands-on deck' demeanor.* Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Active listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills.* Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.* College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Ability to travel within Chapter footprint.
