The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology and have at least 3 years of experience prosecuting patents in the immunology and molecular biology therapeutic space. They will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, responding to office actions, conducting prior art searches, and providing assistance in opinion preparation. Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications in the fields of immunotherapy, gene therapy, cell therapy, and related areasRespond to office actions and communicate with patent examinersAssist in the preparation of opinions related to patentability, infringement, and validityConduct prior art searches to assess patentability and freedom-to-operateCollaborate with attorneys and inventors to develop patent strategiesProvide technical expertise in immunology and virology to support patent prosecution efforts Requirements:Ph.D. in Immunology or VirologyAdmission to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)3+ years of experience prosecuting patents in immunology and molecular biology therapeutic areasStrong academic credentialsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail and ability to work independently Education:Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology Certifications:Admission to practice before the USPTO Skills:Patent prosecutionPrior art searchingLegal writingTechnical expertise in immunology and virologyCommunication and collaboration A regional powerhouse firm with strong political history, this firm is regarded as the 15th Best Law Firm in the Mid-Atlantic.
