Additional Information About the Role Independence Center LPN opportunity with a variety of responsibilities. Support clubhouse members through a friendly and supportive clinic environment completing physician's office support giving injections, finger stick screenings, completing vitals and documentation. Also, support the health educator in the health care home by reaching out in a supportive way to provide health education by encouraging positive actions by members. Document services provided through various databases and MS office. Schedule Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.No on-call, weekends or holidays.Independence Center (IC) is an internationally recognized, community-based behavioral health organization for adults in St Louis living with a mental illness. Overview BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Franois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities, utilizing the nursing process, under the supervision of the RN. Responsibilities Provides general nursing services to patients under the supervision of a physician. Performs various lab procedures according to set standards. Manages inventory of supplies and medications. Implements treatments and procedures within the scope of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in professional development and life long learning.
