Job Summary:This position is for a college student currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related field. This position will provide support to Mueller's Mechanical New Product Development (NPD) department with a focus on design.Work and experiences may include any of the below-mentioned tasks. Other duties may be assigned as well based on business need or learning opportunities.Co-Ops Assignments May Include:* Design and build product prototypes* Conduct laboratory and real-world testing* CAD work (PTC Creo / SolidWorks)* FMEA (design and process engineering)* Perform field trials alongside engineering teamPrimary Requirements:* Currently enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering or another related field* CAD competency* Demonstrate ability to problem solve technical issues* Ability to work independently or with a team* Proficient computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Program suite* Must hold valid driver's licenseQualifications:* Working knowledge of mechanical design and materials* CREO or SolidWorks experience* Proficiency in Statics, Dynamics, and Fluids* Experience with manufacturing processes* 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or additive manufacturing* Experience with inspection and lab equipment* Excellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking Conditions/ Physical Requirements:* Working in fabrication facilities or laboratories* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds* Ability to manipulate test material* Ability to climb stairs, ladders and similar structures* Ability to work on uneven surfacesWe are an equal opportunity employer.
