Closing date: April 4, 2024 Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, Water Operations, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading development of comprehensive maintenance and reliability strategies for water treatment facilities throughout the Elk Valley, including for new facilities as part of Teck’s overall commitment to the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan. To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who can collaborate well with a team; someone who can establish relationships across multi-disciplinary technical teams, works as an effective team leader to deliver on project requirements, and who possesses excellent interpersonal skills. This role requires a motivated self-starter with sophisticated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities who can remain flexible, and prioritize multiple contending demands in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Provide field engineering support during startup and commissioning of a state-of-the-art water treatment facility Work closely with the Maintenance execution team to develop and manage maintenance activities including contractor management, work order approval and prioritization, and shutdown planning and execution Develop a reliability program that balances preventative maintenance, cost, and facility availability requirements Direct engineering deliverables including engineering packages, conceptual desktop level studies, and capital and maintenance cost evaluations.
