SUMMARY OF POSITION The Slitting Operator is responsible for setting up the machine, running production of the slitter, cleaning of the slitter and all maintenance on the slitting machines. This position is responsible for operating machines to slit continuous lengths of laminated film into specified widths that meet your customer quality specifications. This role would also be responsible for packing off the slitter for shipping, when required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Identifies and ensures that proper materials are used for production Ensures mistakes are not made and materials match as necessary Manages pre-run testing of the material to ensure the correct coding weights and bond strength are applied Runs the proper amount of material/footage to the job order Completes proper checking of production and material Cleans the slitter daily; organizes machine and material parts during closing operations Prepares for production at the end of each day for the following day Spaces rotary blades on the machine shaft, according to width specified on slitting work order.
