We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Property and Procurement Solicitor , on a 3-month contract , likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £40.00 per hour PAYE Summary: To undertake legal work within the relevant functional area, or such other areas within Legal Services as may be required from time to time, to advise on legal matters; to act on the Council's instructions and where necessary and appropriate to represent the Council in Court and at tribunals, hearings, mediations and inquiries. The relevant functional area is Property Procurement and Contract Law. The legal work comprises a demanding and varied non-contentious workload. The work will include advising on Property, Contractual and Procurement law matters (including complex and high value procurements) with particular focus on commercial conveyancing and development projects, construction contracts, as well as other non-contentious Local Government law matters; drafting procurement documentation, contracts, statutory orders and other documentation; and carrying out any other legal work necessary for the performance of the legal Services functions. Responsibilities: To provide legal advice on such matters as the Director of Governance and Legal Services may direct from time to time as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the organisation To provide advice and draft appropriate legal documentation in relation to property procurement and contract law matters, (including complex and high value property transactions, procurements and partnership/collaborative working arrangements with particular reference to commercial conveyancing transactions, development agreements, construction contracts and other contract documentation relating to construction projects) To keep abreast of developments.
