<p>Description:</p><ul><li>The newly established Cell Therapy Department at Genentech is seeking a self-motivated and intellectually curious Research Associate to join our growing team.</li><li>The ideal candidate is a skilled lab-based stem cell biologist who is driven to contribute to a rigorous scientific and collaborative environment.</li><li>The successful candidate will be integral to setting up the Cell Therapy laboratory and make impactful contributions towards meeting the department’s goals.</li><li>This is a two year position with the possibility of extension.</li><li>Final title will be contingent on years of experience upon offer.</li></ul><p><br />Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Utilize state of the art technologies for cell and genome engineering</li><li>Execute protocols to maintain and differentiate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)</li><li>Perform analytical workflows encompassing but not limited to gene-based assays and cell-based assays</li><li>Data acquisition, analysis, interpretation and communication of findings in internal scientific meetings</li><li>Coordination of equipment on-boarding and maintenance</li><li>Maintain compliance with lab safety, training and documentation</li><li>Occasional weekend work and lifting ~25lbs</li></ul><p>Requirements:</p><ul><li>BS/MS in Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or a related discipline</li><li>Strong background in sterile aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques and experience working with human iPSCs</li><li>Technical expertise in at least two of the following areas: cell based functional assays, image acquisition/analysis, molecular assays (NGS, RT-PCR, dd-PCR)</li><li>Proven ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate effectively</li></ul><p>Other Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Experience with single cell cloning and stem cell differentiation</li><li>Familiar with automation, liquid handling and high-throughput screening</li><li>Experience with delivery of genome engineering systems to iPSCs</li><li>Prior industry work experience</li><li>Experience using software for flow cytometry analysis, electronic lab notebook and data visualization.
