Made Possible.POSITION SUMMARYThe Mechanic will be responsible for locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. Mechanics remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. The Mechanic determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Additionally, Mechanics will need to document any maintenance that may take place.KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnose problems and make repairs on all machinery. * Properly and accurately, complete all required records keeping, ordering and other necessary paperwork. * Proper use and adherence to LockoutTagout Procedures. * Must follow precise instructions and directions. * Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams. * Perform tool conversions on machinery. * Practice good housekeeping * Perform other duties as assigned * Obey all safety rules, regulations, and policiesThe above is intended to describe the general content of and the requirements for the performance of this position. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES * High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. * Vocational school in related subjects desired; demonstrated mechanical ability; six months or more related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms. * Good handgrip strength is required. * Good hand-eye coordination is essential. * Frequently required to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. * Work near moving mechanical part, and occasionally in outside weather conditions. * Ability to work in high room temperatures and humidity. * Exposed fumes and/or airborne particles from fluids, oils, paint and Isopropyl Alcohol. * Exposed to machine parts operating at extremely high temperatures.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES * Read and comprehend complex, detailed instructions and correspondence. * Write simple correspondence. * Effectively present information orally in a one-on-one or small group situation. * Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions. * Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. * Add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. * Read a ruler or other precise measuring equipmentKEY BEHAVIORAL TRAITS FOR SUCCESS * Commitment to Task: Able to take responsibility for actions and outcomes and persist despite obstacles; give dedication to the position; demonstrate dependability in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency about getting results. * Communication: Able to clearly present information through the spoken or written word; read and interpret complex information; talk with internal / external customers; listen well. * Customer Focus: Able to demonstrate a high level of service delivery. * Ethics/Social Behavior: Understands and integrates legal, ethical, and social considerations into decisions and behaviors. * Flexibility/Adaptability: Able to remain open-minded and change opinions on the basis of new information. * Organization of work / Attention to detail: Arranges and prioritized activities, time and allocation of resources in setting realistic and measurable goals * Decision Making & Problem Solving: Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason; review facts and weigh options. * Professional /Job/ Business Knowledge: Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of own job. * Quality/CIP: Able to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines * Teamwork/Networking: Effectively works with others within and outside department.Salary Min: Salary Mid:Salary Max:Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
