AV Field Service Technician Main Points Salary: 70k-90k depending on experience Located in Sacramento, CA ( will be local travel in area) Must have basic AV troubleshooting knowledge Configuration of IP Settings Responsibilities Perform systematic and high-quality diagnostic troubleshooting, repair, or adjustment to integrated audiovisual systems Adjust, configure, and troubleshoot video and audio-conferencing systems, DSPs and audio systems Retrieve and load control system code and troubleshoot control systems Repair connectors, cables, and other system components De-install/install system components, devices, and equipment Provide detailed status of system repair and follow up on unresolved issues Responsible for the accurate mark-up of field documentation and maintaining and archiving all job-related configuration files, code, graphic touch panel layouts and programs in a timely manner Provide system training to the owner or client when required Provide technical guidance to other Service Technicians who may need occasional assistance with the development of skills listed above. Act as primary trainer and mentor for Service Technician new hires and trainees when needed Responsible for providing feedback on performance reviews, interview processes, as well as with developmental and training plans Attend training classes and maintain certifications as required by management Following safety standards as required by OSHA and management Requirements Associate degree or equivalent experience AVIXA CTS certification preferred Attain a CompTIA Network+ certification within two years of starting this position 2+ years’ previous experience providing technical AV/IT and/or field engineering support Proficiency using Windows and Apple software Must have the ability and technical knowledge to set up and color balance video displays Experience in programming languages from various AV manufacturers, including AMX, Crestron, Must have working familiarity with programming languages like Python, HTML, C#Pro, as well as digital communication protocols such as IP, RS232, RS485, and various USB interfaces Must have advanced proficiency setting up and adjusting common audio and video equipment including video and audio-conferencing systems Must have advanced proficiency using software, hand tools and test equipment of the audiovisual and IT trades Must have advanced proficiency configuring wired and wireless TCP/IP networks Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task are all required Work hours will vary according to individual customer site schedules.
