Job Description: A Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining ground penetrating radar equipment to detect and map subsurface structures and features. This role involves conducting surveys in various environments to provide valuable information for construction, engineering, archaeology, environmental assessments, and other relevant fields. Key Responsibilities: GPR Equipment Operation: Operate ground penetrating radar equipment proficiently. Ensure accurate data collection by calibrating and adjusting equipment settings as needed. Conduct surveys in compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Data Interpretation and Analysis: Analyze and interpret GPR data to identify subsurface anomalies, structures, and utilities. Collaborate with project teams to integrate GPR findings into overall project planning. Provide clear and concise reports outlining survey results and recommendations. Field Work: Conduct field surveys using GPR equipment in various locations and terrains. Ensure proper safety protocols during fieldwork and adhere to environmental regulations. Document field observations and potential challenges encountered during surveys. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on GPR equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Troubleshoot and address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime. Keep abreast of technological advancements in GPR equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers and other professionals to integrate GPR data into project plans. Provide technical expertise and support to team members and clients. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, environmental science, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in operating ground penetrating radar equipment. Familiarity with survey design, data interpretation, and analysis. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with diverse project teams. Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
