The ETAF - Down Market Strategy Intern will work with socially focused sustainable financial institutions and support them in developing, launching, or growing sustainable education lending portfolios. The intern will support ETAF's down-market strategy to increase capital mobilized by Opportunity International's partners to low-fee schools serving parents living on or below the poverty line. RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned Assist the data team in identifying opportunities for automation within data input processes. Participate in testing and refining automated processes. Analyse collected data and generate insight into the impact of training on the bankability of schools and capital mobilization. Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations based on analysis findings. Collaborate on the interpretation of the results and implications for decision-making. Research innovative financial instruments and incentives ETAF could use with partner financial institutions to encourage greater disbursements to low-fee schools. Scope potential ‘down-market’ regions for ETAF to engage in based on several indicators. Scope existing and potential Financial institutions serving low-income communities or operating in low-income regions. QUALIFICATIONS Must be enrolled in a credited college graduate or undergraduate program. Must be seeking or have completed a degree in economics, finance, development studies, or a similar field. Knowledge of financial inclusion in developing markets is greatly valued. Strong Microsoft Word, PPT, and Excel skills with a strong attention to detail are necessary. Ability to present findings or translate data into a coherent visual representation. Passionate and ambitious about increasing access to education in low-income communities through financial services.
