<p>Description:</p><ul><li>Works under general supervision, to conduct and monitor laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures, and technical and theoretical understanding.</li><li>Makes recommendations to resolve problems encountered during experimental procedures.</li><li>Assumes responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental results.</li><li>Summarizes experimental results, and reviews conclusions with supervisor/project leader.</li><li>Communicates results of experiments in the form of reports and presentations.</li><li>Keeps supervisor/project leader informed of project status, particularly of significant findings and results in critical problem areas.</li><li>Performs work according to established internal safety guidelines and procedures, and as specified by appropriate external regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA).</li><li>Analyzes experimental data using various data analysis software and/or applying quantitative methods.</li><li>Forms conclusions, and provides/documents process improvements.</li><li>Uses technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.</li><li>May present findings at internal meeting.</li><li>Assumes accountability for own electronic notebook documentation, ensuring experimental methods and results are recorded timely, accurately and consistently, and according to established formats.</li><li>Participates in routine lab maintenance, lab safety, ISO, and QSR implementation.</li><li>May troubleshoot issues related to instrumentation.</li><li>Receives general instructions; plans and executes own work.</li><li>Keeps informed of trends and developments in area of scientific responsibility.</li><li>May establish and work with individuals or teams outside of immediate functional area or RMD.</li><li>Knows and effectively uses the broad concepts of a particular filed or specialization to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity.</li><li>Analyzes alternative approaches to solve problems or develop new perspectives on existing solutions.</li></ul><p>Other Duties:</p><ul><li>The essential job functions and major contributions listed above are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills.</li><li>Incumbents may be required to perform other duties as required.</li></ul><p>Job Level Criteria:</p><ul><li>Job Level Criteria defines additional responsibilities for this job, which includes such things as Strategic Focus, Leadership Responsibility and Impact of Work on the organization.</li></ul><p><br />Skills</p><ul><li>Sci I/II: Minimum (required): Ph.D./Master’s/Bachelor’s in life sciences, chemical sciences, or related scientific fields. Typically 0 to 3 years of relevant industry experience. Preferred: More than 1 year of relevant industry experience.</li><li>Senior Scientist: Minimum (required): Ph.D./Master’s/Bachelor’s in life sciences, chemical sciences, or related scientific field with 0/2/5+ years relevant experience. Preferred: More than 1 year of relevant industry experience.</li></ul><p>Other Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Ability to design and execute relevant laboratory experimentation and determine next steps within the context of overall project goals and direction.</li><li>Subject to OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen Standard Routinely handle blood, blood products, body fluids or other potentially infectious materialsSubject to respiratory protection standard Work with potential hazardous chemicals Work with potential radiological hazards.</li><li>Work with potential biological hazards.</li><li>Wear personal protective equipment, such as eye, foot, lab coat, gowning coveralls.</li><li>Wear respirator dust mask cartridge/air purifying supplied air.</li><li>Wear hearing protective devices.</li><li>Confined space work</li></ul><p>This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $30.96/hour-$53.00/hour</p><p>Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met)</p><p>Magnit has an ongoing commitment to the diversity and inclusion of all team members.
