(To apply visit www.vallartasupermarkets.com) The Lead Instructional Designer is responsible for leading and managing the analysis, planning, design, development and implementation of all Vallarta training and education initiatives in alignment with strategic and operational goals. The Lead Instructional Designer will lead the effort to create innovative training solutions using sound instructional design methodologies, current technologies and effective project management to meet organizational product development goals. Lead Instructional Designer will also supervise the day-to-day activities and projects of LMS team such as the Instructional Designer/LMS Administrator and Jr. Instructional Designer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Lead Instructional Designer is responsible for leading and managing the analysis, planning, design, development and implementation of all Vallarta training and education initiatives in alignment with strategic and operational goals. The Lead Instructional Designer will lead the effort to create innovative education creative solutions using sound instructional design methodologies, current technologies and effective project management to meet organizational product development goals of curriculum, activities and other creative means of engagement. Provide vision and leadership in the integration of instructional technologies for online, hybrid and classroom programs Manage the development and resources utilized for the integration of all content items into programs to include graphics, illustrations, activities, case studies and simulations Supervise the LMS Administrator Mentor and coach instructional designers in designing and developing engaging, innovative and effective instructor-led and eLearning training course materials. Write learning objectives, course content, scenarios, media scripts, practice activities, and assessments Create and maintain eLearning courses and online tests using Articulate Storyline and other development tools as required Create and maintain training manuals, product knowledge guides, technology training guides, and other printed training resources including, but not limited to Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint Collaborate with subject matter experts and across all departments within Vallarta to ensure training content is current, accurate, consistent and aligned with corporate goals Collaboratively design, develop, and curate learning programs and initiatives focused on instructional methods and teaching strategies, that drive business results Tracks and analyzes programs, provides metrics, determines and reports on trends, offers data-based recommendations General Duties and Responsibilities Utilize the latest Instructional Systems Design techniques, including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation to create cutting edge learning solutions Serve as a key partner in the creation of creative and engaging learning solutions to include instructor led training, eLearning, job aids, and other relevant training materials Assist with all areas of testing, course evaluations, analysis, feedback collection, and updating the training as required Assist with the development and implementation of training benchmarks for continuous improvement with training programs Openly and respectfully engage in all discussions relating to training issues; provide solution-based input and make logical recommendations Deliver projects efficiently so that tasks are completed on time and problems are anticipated or resolved quickly Develop instructional materials and support resources for meaningful use of digital/ instructional technologies in a variety of learning contexts Conducts industry research to determine learning solutions that promote best practices Manage multiple learning programs in multiple concurrent work-streams Build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues on the Training team, and companywide Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated level of expertise in learning analysis and design thinking Demonstrated level of expertise in designing and developing learning solutions (e.g web-based training, simulations, video-based training, etc.) that are exciting, fun and transformative Demonstrated ability to measure learning outcomes using appropriate evaluation methods Expert in various learning theories and methodology, instructional design, evaluation amp; measurement, content curation, performance consulting, needs analysis, and learning technology Outstanding editing, writing, and critical reasoning, interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly Strong coaching/counseling skills, including the ability to provide recommended solutions Ability to Identify developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities Strong leadership skills, with the ability to understand, apply and teach key concepts such as effective communication, respectful interactions, effective team building and self-development Strong Teamworking skills, with the capacity to be collaborative, develop and maintain trust and build credibility with all colleagues within Vallarta Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in relevant field or relevant experience Experience designing training for diverse learners Flexible, able to manage changing priorities Bilingual Spanish required Physical Demands Some travel, up to 25% as required by project May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is an exempt level position; Typical office schedule is Monday Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, however, hours would be based on business necessity and coordinated through the reporting supervisor.
