We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Data Analyst, on a 2- month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £17.00 per hour PAYE Responsibilities: To demonstrate in-depth knowledge of health intelligence approaches and the Public Health evidence base that informs regional and local programme delivery and health and wellbeing policies and procedures. To appropriately manage large confidential datasets in line with information governance principals in place within the Public Health division and Council, in accordance with local agreements in place with the data controller e. g. NHS Digital. To demonstrate competence in the use of Excel, with the potential to use specialist packages such as Map Info, SAS Enterprise, Stata and Power BI. To lead the development and production and completion of major public heath reports and programmes, e. g. Joint Strategic Needs backssment, Annual Public Health Report, as well as contributing to other plans to address health inequalities, including writing, collating and/or editing chapters and reports. To have knowledge and experience of undertaking evaluations and needs backssments to effectively measure the outcome and benefit of Public Health initiatives / interventions. Qualifications: Educated in a suitable postgraduate qualification in Public Health, statistics or equivalent Proven experience of using statistical methods to inform needs backssments through the collation, analysis and interpretation of key Public Health and Council data, information and evidence Proven experience of applying public health techniques and processes, including health needs backssments, equity audits and evaluations Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
