Our law firm is looking for the next associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel to our clients. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. If you’ve recently graduated law school, have excellent fact-finding and communication skills, and are ready to jump-start your career in the legal industry, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities: • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action• Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys• Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings• Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals• Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff Qualifications: • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients• Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school• Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base• Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)• Successful completion of the bar exam• Three to five years of criminal defense experience in Florida Compensation: $100,000 About Company: At Key West Criminal Defense, PLLC, we believe that the practice of law should be interesting, engaging, and fulfilling and that you should work with a team of people – who feel like a small family – dedicated to helping good people, who made a mistake or are wrongfully accused – get their lives back on track with their bright future intact.
