About the Role The Associate provides exceptional design and project management services and is comfortable leading internal design teams as well as working in a client facing project management position. This position manages a variety of projects from concept to completion and is committed to the project's success. This position focuses on the data center projects but is also expected to handle other similar mechanical engineering design projects commensurate with our portfolio of commercial MEP projects. Primary Responsibilities: Lead Engineering project manager for MEP design teams focused on data center design projects for both New/Greenfield sites as well as expansion/retrofit of existing facilities. Provide technical requirements of HVAC systems to our corresponding plumbing, electrical and fire protection design teams. Develop and advance existing office design standards specific to the Data Center and Mission Critical marketplaces with minimal supervision. Work to develop cross-discipline technical solutions. Proactively engage the professional community to build industry knowledge and expand the JBB brand recognition, including attendance at seminars, conferences and similar industry events. Coordinate with our Energy Modeling team to optimize data center design for both low energy use and low carbon emissions while coordinating with the project’s 7x24 reliability requirements. Provide technical guidance and coordination with our internal and third-party data center commissioning teams. Travel to client and project locations throughout the US as well as attend industry conferences. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience facility design and construction environments. Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of data center HVAC, standby generation and associated fuel oil systems. Experience with Revit Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred. 15 years of work experience in large-scale facilities and their electrical/mechanical infrastructure. Experience with Chiller, Cooling Towers, AHU, Heat Pumps and Generator designs Experience with energy modeling Experience process water flushing and treatment. Experience with Building Controls Systems Understanding of ASHRAE 90.1,90.4 and TC 9.9 publications 1-14 Working Conditions: The position requires sitting, walking, and, at times, prolonged standing. Will be requested to visit construction sites and may be required to use ladders or lifts. The work requires both indoor and outdoor activity in temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme cold or hot and other weather conditions. May require lifting of equipment. Due to the 24x7 nature of the position, occasional work on nights and weekends to support system commissioning is expected. What We Offer Our employees are our greatest strength.
