Position Summary: This position will primarily provide support on litigation and arbitration matters involving the NBA and its affiliated leagues. Reporting to the Vice President and Assistant General Counsel : Litigation and Player Matters, the position will focus on commercial litigation, CBA: related arbitrations, and liability risk management. Major Responsibilities: : Assist in managing commercial litigation matters involving the NBA and its affiliated leagues in state and federal courts across the country. Primary responsibilities include: supervising outside counsel, directing case strategy, reviewing case filings, reporting to league management, and advising in: house business clients on case updates and liability risk.Coordinate with and advise NBA team general counsel on team: related litigation and pre: litigation matters.Work with NBA regional office lawyers on international disputes.Support day: to: day litigation case management (e. g. discovery, litigation holds, insurance, budgeting, indemnification requests, audits, press inquiries, case monitoring, third: party subpoena responses).Provide support on all aspects of CBA: related arbitrations, including briefing, hearings, factual investigation, and research and analysis.Perform special projects and other assignments relating to collective bargaining, league operations, and league governance.
