JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate, under the direction of senior engineers and technical staff, will be responsible for the engineering analysis and design for a variety of structural projects. Common projects include residential, commercial, and industrial buildings constructed of wood, steel, and concrete components. Flexibility exists in terms of the role and the experience level, however a civil engineering background with an understanding of structural design of bridges/culverts and buildings would be considered a minimum requirement. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Complete and review detailed structural engineering design calculations; coordinating of drawings with drafting staff. Develop and evaluate design alternatives. Prepare design reports and review drawings. Develop cost estimates and construction specifications. Assist with contract tendering and administration services. Carry out field work including structural condition backssments, field measurements, and construction site reviews. Coordinating with utility agencies to support projects.
