Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Mid-Level Structural or Civil Engineer to perform technical design and onsite consulting for hydro-related projects in Halifax, Nova Scotia. St. Johns, Newfoundland will also be considered. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely. Salary: $ 82,000 to $123,000/year (based on experience). Who You Are A Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and 5-10+ years of experience in structural engineering or civil engineering. Design and construction of structures in and around water or earthen features such as dams or dikes is a plus. Knowledgeable: Knowledge of Canadian standards and codes applicable to structural engineering or civil engineering required. Able to independently perform analysis and design of concrete and steel structures. Experience coordinating with multiple -disciplines, utilizing modeling/design software such as RISA-3D or SAP2000, and building proficiency in project collaborative software such as Auto CAD, Civil3D and Bluebeam Revu. Familiarity with developing design drawing packages and technical specifications. The candidate should have experience working in the field with clients and contractors during the planning and construction of projects. The candidate will also possess excellent problem-solving skills and oral and written communication skills for internal and external communication, proposal writing and technical memos. Project Management: The candidate will have the ability to perform tasks on multiple projects concurrently and can cover for a temporary absence of a technical engineering lead or project manager. The candidate can communicate effectively with Kleinschmidt management, administrative staff, junior and senior technical staff and clients in the performance of their role on a project.
