Community Connector - New Parents Durham- Primarily Bishop Auckland although some working across County Durham will be required. Fixed term until March 2025 full time (37.5 hpw), Mon – Fri 9am-5pm Pay £11.51 per hour (£22,500 per annum) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan Home, a place where you belong Your role will be to develop & deliver a high-quality Community Connector parenting service. You will support new parents with the challenges they face offering ongoing support, a listening ear, emotional and practical support, looking at childcare needs, managing bills, maximising benefits, support to attend GP appointment and peer groups whilst being empathetic and caring. You’ll have your own caseload of customers to Befriend and support within the local community. You’ll fully integrate yourself into the Durham County Council (DCC) Family Hub centres in Bishop Auckland and Horden and become part of the wider team offering support to new parents. When you’re not out in the community providing support to your customers you will be based in one of the DCC family hubs readily available to support the wider team based there and customers attending the Family hub sessions. Together we’ll make a difference! Typical day as a Community Connector - New Parents (known by us as Coordinator) Creating bespoke and personalised support plans and risk backssments with your customers and delivering support to your customers to meet their needs and reviewing these needs on an ongoing basis. Supporting Parents to-be from 20 weeks pregnant until 12 weeks post-partum. working collaboratively with external agencies, to backss and engage support for our customers. be a role model for our customers promoting independence, and opportunities and empowering them to self-manage their mental wellbeing.
