Position Overview Performs direct and indirect patient care activities and non-patient care activities that are delegated and supervised by the Therapist responsible for the care of the patient(s). Experience Previous direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant Program (not limited to but including the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Rehabilitation Assistant Program) required. Certification/Licensure/Registration Current C. P. R. (Family and Friends) is preferred. Qualifications and Skills Must be proficient in both oral and written English communication. Excellent interpersonal skills with people in a variety of settings. Computer literacy as appropriate to the setting. Basic computer skills required. Physical Requirements Must be in excellent physical and mental health. Must be able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time without resting. Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with patients. Must be capable of bending, stretching and lifting while performing patient.
