Grocery Buyer - Frozen/Bread

Description:
Purpose: To order and merchandise products to meet department objectives for sales, margin, inventory turns and customer service. REPORTS TO: Grocery Manager Essential Functions: Place orders with established suppliers to maintain appropriate in-stock level and inventory turns. Emphasize proper stocking and rotation practices with all bread as it is a highly perishable product. Receive orders as needed, in accordance with established procedures. Coordinate returns and credit from suppliers where applicable. Ensure accurate, up-to-date price labeling of non-scanned department items. Check shelf tags of scanned items to ensure accuracy. Review departmental financial and movement reports and take corrective action as needed. Receive orders and ensure proper receiving by other staff in accordance with established procedures. Ensure accurate, timely updating of all product and price changes in the scanning system. Maintain attractive, fully stocked, neatly organized displays. Provide product information as needed to staff, customers and newsletter. Provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service. Maintain department areas in clean, orderly condition, meeting health department standards. Participate in inventory counts. Maintain accurate shrinkage records. Assist in department training of new staff. Perform other tasks assigned by Supervisor Work in a safe manner, following safety procedures QUALIFICATIONS: Organized, pays attention to detail Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands Demonstrated ability to work with customers and coworkers from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work with TCCP to create an inclusive environment where all are welcomed. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly Ability to work in cold environments - coolers and freezers.
