We are looking for an AV Field Service Technician located in the Mid Atlantic supporting DC to PA region . This position reports directly to the Field Service Manager, Operations/Service. The Field Service Technician is responsible for ensuring that Electrosonic clients have the best service experience possible by providing complete service. Your duties will include collecting information, troubleshooting, assessing the fault, making repairs and changes in support of our service customers at all levels. This role includes directly assisting contract and ad hoc customers as well as members of the Electrosonic team during and after installations. This role requires a detail minded, technically skilled individual; able to think quickly on your feet in a fast-paced environment. You need to be able to follow procedures and checklists but have the confidence to improvise when and where needed. What you will be doing? Respond to the customer's location to perform service calls Able to quickly perform troubleshooting and repair services Identify faulty equipment and convey pertinent details for RMA or possible replacement Install and configure standard audio video components Change projector lamps, filters and perform routine upkeep on projector systems Complete preventative maintenance service calls and complete the associated paperwork Provide onsite scouting and evaluation for new systems and upgrades Actively collaborate with internal teams across the business to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and superb product and service quality Create, update and maintain service reports and necessary support paperwork Improve and grow the relationships with customers by assisting with their technology and user experience questions Provide clear information to clients in regard to next steps and answer their questions Ensure service interactions comply within defined service KPls and SLAs. Provide excellent service as part of the service team Complete all internal processes in an accurate and timely manner to avoid any disruptions to client satisfaction Listening attentively and empathetically to fully engage and understand customer needs Communicate clearly to ensure our clients are fully informed Stay up to date on new services and processes to be able to provide accurate, thorough support Maintain personal and business information accurately and confidentially Multitasking and the ability to prioritize are critical Attend & contribute to routine Service meetings Complete small AV projects alone and with additional resources Complete projects and installs as part of the Systems Integration Team Provide assistance during project commissioning Learn and share knowledge gained during project handovers with the team Provide technical support and site specific knowledge as part of the Global Service Team Provides any additional support to ensure Electrosonic is successful Assist with the technical needs of equipment quotations for service products and/or product repairs Thorough understanding of project team members and associated responsibilities N O T E : T h is l i s t of j ob r e s p o n s i b ilities i s n ot an a l l - i n clus i v e l i s t, th is is a ge n e ral d e s cri p ti o n. The specific tasks assigned may develop over time as the needs of the team and the customers evolves. What Experience, Skills and Attributes you will need to be successful? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure Experience in working for a multi-time zone global company Excellent communication skills. Hands on self-starter Disciplined with attention to detail Intermediate experience with Microsoft suite of products Secondary Language is a plus Field Service Technician 1 Able to identify and describe typical cables and terminations used in AV systems AV System knowledge gained in a service or operational environment Hands on experience troubleshooting and supporting a variety of AV systems Ability to read, understand and convey schematics from CAD files Experience with AV tools, common test equipment, and commissioning requirements Basic understanding of network architecture Understanding of control system software Understanding of DSP and related software Understanding of media servers and content streaming Understanding of typical digital signage systems and associated networks AVIXA CTS Technology Specialist or ability to complete it within 6 months of hire date Ability to manage your time and prioritize as situations change Assigned tasks are regularly completed within the budgeted time and performed to meet or exceed quality standards established by ESI Knowledge of OSHA rules and workplace safety. Assigned tasks relating to job site work are maintained in an organized and clean manner Follows and maintains proper safety practices in accordance with OSHA, Site safety requirements, and/or ESI Standards Field Service Technician 2 (all of tier 1 plus) Expert level troubleshooting experience supporting a variety of AV systems Expert with remote access tools such as MS Teams for business, TeamViewer, etc Expert level AV System knowledge including commissioning and project lead experience Proficient in all installation best practices in accordance with both AVIXA & ESI standards. AV System knowledge including complete project lifecycle Detailed understanding of Network Architecture and IT systems Experience with typical structural mounting and connection methods Experience with projector alignment, blending, lamp and filter changes Experience or training on Control system software including, but not limited to; Crestron, AMX, Extron, Cisco,, Medialon, Alcorn McBride, etc Experience or training on DSP's and related software including, but not limited to; QSC, BiAmp, Clearone, Dante, Audinate, Polycom Sound Structure, etc Training on VC systems, codecs, and software including, but not limited to; Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, Webex, GoToMeeting, Bluejeans, MS Teams, etc Experience and training of Media servers and content streaming including, but not limited to; 7th Sense, Watchout, Christie, Aja, etc Experience or training of typical digital signage systems, tools and associated networks Experience with remote monitoring tools including, but not limited to;, Barco Overture, QSC, Medialon, Isaac OHSA 10 Hour Online Construction Course AVIXA CTS or ability to complete it within 6 months of hire date What qualifications are required? Ability to analyze customer situations, make decisions and solve problems under pressure. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail. Basic numeric skills. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and vendors. Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in groups, and via telephone and written communication. Ability to travel including internationally Ability to be detail oriented and work without supervision. High School diploma required College degree in a related technical field a plus Strong desire to learn and be trained. Previous AV or IT Experience is required Extensive Travel for site work, training and team meetings Experience Tier I 1+ years Technical AV experience Tier II 2-5 years Technical AV experience WORK LOCATION: Primary work location is various customer sites Secondary work location nearby Electrosonic office with occasional work remotely (from home) SITE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS : Significant experience with standard AV troubleshooting methodology Experience with digital signage systems Experience with AV Networks Familiar with multiscreen displays functioning as video walls TWIC card is beneficial or the ability to be obtain within 3 months Previous experience with TSA and Airport secure area work preferred SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQU I R E M E N T S : The employee must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 75 pounds. Specific vision acuity requirements include close vision, depth perception, and color recognition. This person will frequently be required to be on step ladders up to 12' and extension ladders to 26'. Occasional use of a man-lift up to 40' will also be required.
