**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD** GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Will perform UH-60 and CH-47 aircraft maintenance as assigned. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical and power plant systems component, perform inspects, troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of on aircraft turbine engines, components and sub-components components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. DUTIES: Removes, replaces, services, prepares, preserves, cleans and stores engine assembles or components Disassembles, repairs, reassembles, adjusts, and diagnostically tests turbine engine systems, subsystems, and components according to directives Assists in troubleshooting engines and rigging engine controls Applies corrosion preventative procedures Performs limited maintenance operational checks Cleans, preserves and stores powertrain components Uses and performs operator maintenance on ground support equipment, common and special tools Req uisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft engines Prepares request for turn-ins and repair parts for powertrain components Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: HS diploma or equivalent Must have completed 15B Aircraft Powerplant Repairer Course or other service equivalence and have 4 years Army aviation maintenance experience or 4 years of verifiable experience and a valid FAA Airframe license RESET or depot experience is plus Proficiency in MS Office suite Must be thoroughly familiar with AR 95-20, DA PAM 738-751, AR 700-138, and all associated aircraft maintenance manuals Must have own tools and ability to meet minimum tool list requirements, applying FOD and tool control best practices in accordance with AR 95-20 and Flight and Ground Operating Procedures Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances. May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
