This position will be a full-time position and have teaching assignments that include teaching science to 3rd Grade, 4th Grade and 5th Grade. Teachers will use the Amplify Science Curriculum. Responsibilities : Instill a love of science and nature Teach hands-on, elementary science curriculum to Grades 3, 4 and 5 including: the human systems including the reproductive systems to 4th Grade STEAM Fair to 5th Grade Engineering Design projects to 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades Collaborate with teachers within the division and cross-divisionally Grade assignments and projects Provide parents and administrators with written and oral student progress reports Provide lesson plans to administration upon request or when absent Attend two day-long field trips with 4th Grade Attend an overnight (three days/two nights) field trip with 5th Grade Be a resource teacher for homeroom and special-area teachers, including planning and co-teaching special topics Assist in planning and executing activities for students on special LS days (PLUSS Days) Attend All-School Professional Days, Science Department and Lower School Faculty meetings Commit to ongoing professional development Assist in arrival and dismissal duties Qualifications : Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in science preferred. Experience teaching hands-on science to elementary school students (ages 8 to 11) is preferred.
