Registered Nurse - Infusion Specialist - Full Time

Position Overview: The Registered Nurse - Infusion Specialist will operate in a Same Day setting to provide care and administer infusion therapies, monitor patients and record results on an outpatient basis . This position will also coordinate services with lab, pharmacy, community clinics and other entities participating in patients' care. Essential Functions : Receives orders from physicians and oversees schedules / appointments for patients. Receives patients, explains procedures, assess and confirms any needed labs, vaccines, tests or other studies required prior to receiving treatment. Checks vital signs and administers therapy, monitors reactions, and reports to physicians as indicated. Documents all appropriate assessment findings, vital signs, medication administration and other significant information on electronic health record Deal with emergency situations (with outside assistance) if required. Provides such infusion treatments as hydration, blood and blood components, administering drugs and solutions. Keeps records for medical records and billing purposes. Recommend process improvements to Surgical Services leadership and participates in projects. Promotes the philosophy and mission of Montrose Regional Health. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Education and Work Experience RN with state license required. Three years of clinical experience that includes training in infusion therapy preferred. Knowledge of infusion medications, hospital processes and policies for infusions. Completion of infusion port access Ability to effectively communicate, verbally, and non-verbally, in a clear, concise manner. Administrative and philosophical compatibility with Montrose Regional Health. Interpersonal skills and sound judgment necessary to communicate with a wide variety of persons including patients. The ability to make appropriate decisions based on fact and knowledge is required. The ability to perform detailed work required. The ability to work harmoniously with employees required. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and show good judgment. The ability to make decisions under pressure and deadlines required. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. P rolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching.
