Department: Bozeman Lab Job Type: Internship Reports to: Lab Manager Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8-5 unless needed Amount of travel required: 10-50% Project Description Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. is accepting applications for and engineering intern to work in our Bozeman, MT Materials Testing Laboratory. This position will consist of assisting with field inspections and geotechnical/materials testing in our laboratory. Field inspection services include compaction testing, fresh grout and concrete testing. Laboratory testing will include performing Atterbergs, proctors, sieve analysis and numerous other geotechnical soils testing. Other duties will include data management, equipment maintenance, and sample organization. This position will require travel to and from project sites as well as having the potential for weekend work. Candidate will have the use of a company vehicle after arriving at the office building and must have a valid driver's license. Pioneer will provide on the job training to perform field and laboratory testing. Position Qualifications: Education: Candidate must be currently enrolled in a college curriculum and preferred degree area in Environmental/Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technician (CET) or related field. Year in School: Sophomore (Minimum) Physical Demand: Stand-Frequently Walk-Frequently Sit- Often Manually Manipulate-Frequently Reach Outward-Often Reach Above Shoulder-Often Climb-Often Crawl-Often Squat or Kneel-Often Bend-Frequently Grasp-Frequently Speak-Often Lift/Carry 10lbs or less-Often 11-20lbs -often Push/Pull 12lbs or less- Often 13-25lbs -often Work Environment- This position will include field work as well as some office work through out the summer months.
