Second Grade Teacher St. Philip Neri Our school setting and preschool program at St. Philip Neri provide many opportunities for children to meet and grow with success on a daily basis. Second Grade is an important step in the preparation for Third grade and above. Our program supports children's natural curiosity, enthusiasm, and optimism for learning and new experiences. Our goal is to provide a warm environment where children develop a strong sense of confidence and self-esteem. We help children to become independent, self-confident, and inquisitive learners. Description of role: Our school is looking for a Second Grade teacher who can assist in continuing a nurturing, rigorous yet enjoyable learning experience. As well as upkeep a safe environment and collaborate with the teacher to incorporate educational strategies that assist in our children's development and preparation for future grades. The Second Grade Teacher will be responsible for taking attendance, creating lesson plans, assessing their students on a daily basis to monitor growth, working hand in hand with parents to offer support, and creating differentiated instruction task cards/building their inquiry skills/lessons to fit our Blended Learning program. Tasks: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child Assist in delivering reports on potential concerns about students as to management as needed Assist in managing day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, engaging and motivating students to learn, Teacher- Made Assessments, escorting class to specials, bathroom breaks, lunchtime and communicating with the parents professionally Skills and requirements: Must have a degree in Education NYS Certification in progress or completed Strong Classroom Management and organization Strong literacy background experience working with children in a classroom setting Caring and nurturing attitude towards children Excellent verbal and written communication skills Willing to collaborate with fellow co-workers and not hesitant to seek advisement from an administrator, upholds and is respectful of Catholic Values Knowledge of MAP testing and Blended Learning is a plus Work schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday Benefits: Health, Vision, and Dental insurance Professional Developments support from curriculum specialists coaches, Administration, school counselor Schedule: Monday to Friday Job Posted by ApplicantPro
