Overview: The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Ship Design & Systems Engineering Division (CG-459), Human Systems Integration (HSI) Division (CG-1B), and Surface Forces Logistics Center Engineering Services Division (SFLC-ESD) provides complete life cycle management of surface assets from concept development through disposal. This includes tasks relating to the acquisition of new cutters and boats, maintenance and upgrade of existing assets, management and maintenance of vessel configuration and performance characteristics, and engineering and design support services. Job Summary: Knowledge of properties of lubricants including weights, viscosities, performance and degradation under temperature, pressure, and time, and ability to make the appropriate selection and -maintenance of lubricants for given machinery and operating condition applications. Knowledge of coolants for internal combustion engines, especially medium and high-speed diesel engines, including physical and thermodynamic properties, selection for particular marine applications, and ability to trend test results and make recommendations and modifications. Education and Experience: Minimum of 10 years' documented experience in data interpretation and post analysis of the lube oil/coolant samples. Experience with a lube oil/coolant analysis programs for a company or government entity with diesel engines, reduction gears and other shipboard equipment. Documented at least 3 years' experience in data interpretation and post analysis of the lube oil/coolant samples. Minimum of 2 years' documented experience in charge of a lube oil/coolant management program. Essential Duties: Work with external subject matter experts and vendors to develop solutions to company/government challenges in lube oil/coolant program Identify technical and non-technical challenges to maintaining an effective lube oil/coolant analysis program Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs preferred. Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs preferred. VectorCSP is a Federal contracting small business based out of North Carolina.
