Description:
Overview: The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Ship Design & Systems Engineering Division (CG-459), Human Systems Integration (HSI) Division (CG-1B), and Surface Forces Logistics Center Engineering Services Division (SFLC-ESD) provides complete life cycle management of surface assets from concept development through disposal. This includes tasks relating to the acquisition of new cutters and boats, maintenance and upgrade of existing assets, management and maintenance of vessel configuration and performance characteristics, and engineering and design support services. Job Summary: Support naval architect and marine engineering for the design of ships and boats, and the recapitalization of existing ships and boats. Develop arrangement models and diagrams to support ship design and operation. Education and Experience: Minimum of 10 years' documented experience creating 3D drawings with AutoCAD (or equivalent) software Documented 3 years' experience working with hull structure and arrangements or marine piping Essential Duties: Create and modify CAD drawings of new and current systems for improvement. Work with stakeholders to use software to build and test new system configurations. Strong knowledge and skill in the use of the Autodesk AutoCAD software suite.
