Description:
General Summary of Duties: Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Requires strong clinical and critical thinking skills along with strong IV skills. Must be able to multi-task in a very fast-paced medical office setting. Example of Duties: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned) Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed. Assists when necessary with appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples tests. Arranges for patient testing and admissions. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Attends conferences and workshops. Maintains patient and office confidentiality. Performs related work as required. Qualifications: Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Experience: Computer experience required.
