Reporting to the Zone Medical Executive Director, the DH for Anesthesia is responsible for the operations of the Anesthesia Medical staff in the Zone, provides strategic and operational planning and service leadership in collaboration with relevant administrative Department leaders, and provides leadership to the Anesthesia site leads as well as performance management and physician resource planning for members of the department. The DH works with Anesthesia Site Leads to develop a schedule of physicians to ensure coverage of Anesthesia Departments and appropriate medical administration throughout the zone. Role Accountabilities Role Accountabilities 1. Ensure that department members are compliant with the Bylaws and Rules and regulations of the NSHA; 2. Hold regular department meetings and provide the Zone Medical Executive Director with meeting minutes; 3. Attend relevant committee meetings as assigned by the Medical Executive Director; 4. Provide co-leadership along with the Zone administrative director of the zone department for strategic and operational planning and budgeting; 5. Works with Specialty Site Leads to ensure service continuity is maintained through Department scheduling practices, including but not limited to vacation requests, on-call scheduling, and locum utilization; 6. Participate in the monitoring of standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the department in the zone; 7. Provide Performance management for all department members; 8.
