The City of Iqaluit is looking for an experienced individual to join our growing team and city as the Director of Engineering and Capital Planning Title: Director of Engineering and Capital Planning Department: Public Works Status: Full-time permanent Salary Range: $141,243.06 – $167,752.44 per annum Settlement Allowance: $22,378.25 per annum Union Status: Excluded Housing: Staff Housing Available Closing Date: Open until filled This employment opportunity is open to all applicants. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Engineering and Capital Planning provides and leads all aspects of the City’s capital infrastructure planning processes including the developing, maintaining and reporting of the City’s Capital Infrastructure including capital planning, facility planning and project management. He/she provides oversight and optimizes planning to ensure alignment with the City’s strategic priorities and delivers strategic advice to senior management and City Council. The Director engages stakeholders and partners to effectively plan and identify needs and efficiencies. The Director manages a team that consists of staff and consultants to provide capital planning and engineering services that address the needs of the community. He/she exercises a disciplined approach to spending and address priorities accordingly. The Director seeks out funding opportunities for Capital Projects and has an in depth understanding of government funding programs and processes. The Director has an in depth understanding of capital planning and project management approaches, processes, cash flow management and projections for projects. He/she demonstrate a collaborative approach to working with client departments and helps build capacity within the organization to effectively deliver projects.
