Contract type: Variable Hours (part-time), Permanent Location: Cardiff, Cardiff University International Study Centre Salary: up to £32.28 per hour (DOE)Cardiff University International Study Centre (ISC) is an innovative place of learning and teaching where we help the student achieve their educational goals and improve their life chances. You would be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching and backssment through a developmental approach, which means autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities. You will teach modules on the International Foundation Year (level 3), International Year 1 (level 4) and/or Pre-Master’s Programme (level 6). You will play a key role by contributing to the development of teaching materials and formative and summative backssments. You will empower students to reach the level they need to progress into university by providing student-centred, engaging, and innovative learning. You’ll undertake marking and feedback on formative and summative backssments. ABOUT THE ROLE Contribute to the delivery and development of modules and teaching sessions offered by the ISC. Prepare and deliver teaching sessions, with a maximum teaching load of up to 25 hours per week. The specific number of taught hours is subject to operational needs and will be discussed with successful candidates. Develop formative and summative backssment tasks. Mark students’ formative and summative backssment submissions, providing timely and useful feedback to students on their performance, including writing regular student progress reports. Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including content for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Work with the Centre’s Student Experience team in the delivery of induction, orientation and registration programmes.
