The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for the management of the highway network and to ensure that the highway is maintained in a safe and accessible condition. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: manage the condition surveys of the highway network. manage the Asset team effectively and efficiently. maintain the asset management software systems and assist in the developmentmaintenance of the Highways Asset Management Plan and associated policies. take responsibility for the development of the annual capital works programme in accordance with given priorities and resources. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require a minimum of a BTEC HNC/D in Civil Engineering or equivalent in a related and similar subject, and extensive relevant experience in local government highway maintenance services. The below skills would be essential for the role: A detailed knowledge of general highway maintenance matters including construction techniques and treatments. Experience of managing staff engaged in highway maintenance and condition surveys. Ability to drive; full driving licence required.
