The City of Penticton's Energy & Environment Department is in search of a highly skilled and energetic individual for the temporary (4 months) Electrical & Environment Engineering Co-op Student position. Reporting to the Manager of Energy & Environment, the Electrical & Environment Engineering Co-op Student assists with development and updates of electrical design standards, criteria, and material specifications. In addition, the Electrical & Environment Engineering Co-op Student will assist with regular department functions such as underground asset locate requests, customer service connection designs, capital design planning, and SCADA system integration. The Electrical & Environment Engineering Co-op also supports the Climate Action department with execution of the Community Climate Action Plan and Corporate Energy and Emissions Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Penticton. Key Duties & Responsibilities Prepare high voltage design standard drawing packages. Create and update design criteria based off CSA and other regulatory standards. Create and update material specifications and review of material purchase proposals. Complete underground asset locate requests for the general public. Assist with customer service connection designs. Assist with capital project scoping and designs. Build upon existing SCADA system with further distribution system integration. Prepare research, technical studies, reports and presentations on topics of moderate complexity. Research and present cases for new engineering tools and equipment. Prepare and maintain utility infrastructure mapping and maintenance records. Assist with the operation. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
