Job Details: Safe operation of a forklift; would include certification with the NFGA Ability to work in a fast-paced computerized packline environment with a strong work ethic to get the job done efficiently and safely Ability to work as part of a team to pack, handle, and sort fruit (primarily apples) Strong attention to detail and the ability to take directions from supervisors Ability to maintain food safety standards - safety shoes, hairnets/snoods, jackets, and no piercings or jewerllery Position would include recording inventory levels, maintaining records; could include the construction of cardboard bins for packing (light manual work Cleaning of the presort line and area will be part of daily duties Consistent reliability and reliable transportation Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay Hourly rate begins at 90% of Union rate. Upon successful completion of 600 worked hours, the employee enters the unions and earns the full rate. This role would be for rot grading in presort for the afternoon shift, 3:30-midnight Monday to Thursday. Upon completion of the afternoon shift, there is opportunity to join the day shift as needed. Some days go into overtime, which is not mandatory. Length of afternoon shift is not firm; likely 2 months. Hours are not guaranteed - it depends on the crop and harvest each year.
