SBM is seeking an entry to mid level Structural/Architectural Drafter/Designer to join the Structural/Building Design Division in our Kitchener office. Reporting to the Structural Design & Drafting Employee Lead, the successful candidate will assist in the CAD design of commercial projects, attend meetings, and compile information for upcoming projects. Note : Candidates will also be accepted in London but preference would be Kitchener office or willing to relocate to Kitchener within 6 months of start date. Company Summary: SBM is an established multi-disciplinary Planning, Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering firm that utilizes a team first, collaborative approach to building engineering. SBM has offices in London and Kitchener, providing engineering services to a variety of private and public sector clients across Southwestern Ontario. The firm employs over 120 engineers, engineering trainees, technologists, technicians, planners, and administrative personnel. Key Responsibilities: Structural & Architectural drafting and design for small/medium sized commercial buildings Prepare of Structural & Architectural drawings for projects from design through working drawings Complete full sets of structural engineering/design drawings for permit application Other tasks as assigned by Senior Engineers/Techs, Team Lead or Division Manager Skills / Qualifications: Graduate of Architectural Technology Diploma Program or equivalent. Proficiency with Auto CAD and Microsoft Office programs required; experience in Revit considered an asset. Experience with rendering software’s, such as Twinmotion considered an asset. 1-5 years relevant work experience in Structural/Architectural drafting and CAD design Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
