If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you. PWTransit Canada is currently expanding its transit services into the beautiful West Kootenay region from a garage based in Trail, BC. PWTransit Canada is part of the Pacific Western Group of Companies, a privately held corporation with over 5,400 employees across Canada. We are currently looking for three bus mechanics (Commercial Transport/Heavy Duty) to service the fleet of BC Transit buses operated by us under our contract in the West Kootenay Region. You will be tasked with performing regular preventative maintenance, repairs and CVIPs, while being challenged to continually develop our processes to increase efficiency and fleet reliability. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Follow and comply with both company and BC Transit policies, procedures and guidelines related to fleet maintenance Diagnose, examine and investigate issues to determine causes of defective vehicle components with the use of computer diagnostic equipment Determine proper course of action to facilitate vehicle repair, maintenance, adjustment and component replacement of the transit fleet Operate buses in order to diagnose component failure, or move buses when required Work with management to maintain maintenance schedules and priorities, ensuring the necessary vehicles are in place to deliver service to customers Perform government Inspections (CVIP) at defined intervals Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs Suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentices Attend company or BC Transit training programs as required Knowledge and Skills Required: Journeyperson Certification required.
