Sign-on incentive: Candidates are eligible for a sign on incentive of up to $12,500 based on experienceUniversity of Iowa Health Care opened a new psychiatric unit in 2021. This state-of-the-art unit design features private rooms, natural light-filled spaces, open nurses' station, and exercise rooms. Innovative technology has been integrated into this space to promote a safe environment for staff members and patients.7RCP is separated into a 12-bed mood disorder unit and a 13-bed general adult psychiatry unit. We utilize an evidence-based, patient-centered, interdisciplinary approach, with contributions from physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers, master-level therapists, nurses, social workers, dieticians, occupational and recreational therapists, all striving to work collaboratively with patients and families to provide the best possible care. 7RCP features a new and collaborative position, Behavioral Health Consultant, with a goal to elevate the patient and team outcomes. Evidence-based therapeutic modalities utilized on the unit include dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and trauma-informed care.Percent of Time: 100%Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday nights 2300-0730Location: Roy Carver Pavilion (University Campus)Rotations: Every other weekend and rotating holidaysSalary: $60,000 to commensurate (not including inpatient or shift differential)SEIU Pay Plan: https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-planPay Differentials: Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Experience Requirements: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required * Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions * General computer skills are required * Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire Desirable Qualifications: * Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired * If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable * Knowledge of university and hospital policies and procedures is desired Please attach a resume as part of the application process.
