Term of Appt: February 19 - May 3, 2024 (7.5 hrs/wk) Start date: February 19, 2024 Reporting to: Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs Salary: $46.44 - $55.11/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Description: NLC's Health Care Assistant Program requires a temporary part-time instructor to teach the following HCAT course. HCAT 112: Health 1: Interpersonal Communications (Online Delivery). This course focuses on the development of self-awareness, increased understanding of others and development of effective interpersonal communication skills that can be used in a variety of caregiving contexts. Qualifications Required: Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or an undergraduate degree in a Health or Human Services field; Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives or current practicing license in a health and human services field. Minimum of two years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian Nursing experience with relevant knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and of the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members and policies and procedures within long term care and community settings (experience should also include home support and multi-level complex care for older adults). Proof of full COVID-19 vaccinations (as mandated by PHO), Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners: e. g. completion of (or satisfactory progress in) the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program; or previous teaching experience with satisfactory evaluations; or positive performance evaluations and student course evaluations or where PIDP or teaching evaluations are absent, teaching ability must be demonstrated during the interview.
