Reporting to: Digital Coordinator Department: Information Technology Classification: Summer Student Salary Range: $16.55/hour Starting Date: May 2024 Application Deadline: No later than 4:00pm February 2, 2024 Why Woodstock? Responsibilities Research best practices for posting content on social media. Research new digital accessibility concepts and provide feedback on current content. Reviewing information regarding the Integrated Accessibility Regulation 191/11 under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. Assisting with the development of the necessary policies to comply with the legislation; Accessibility audit on the City of Woodstock website. Creating and remediating accessible documents or the City’s website; Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Essential: Currently enrolled in a Canadian College or University program and must be returning to school full-time in the fall, Excellent research skills, Excellent oral and written communication skills, Proficient computer knowledge and skills, Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines. Preferred: Experience with policy writing, desktop publishing and communications will be an asset, Experience in program evaluation will be an asset, Experience with Accessibility legislation will be an asset. Working Conditions 8-week position, scheduled 35 work week (Monday – Friday) in office. May be required to work overtime.
