POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager of Registration plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing all aspects of ROM’s registration activities and staff. This position is instrumental in managing various facets of museum operations, including acquisitions, Cultural Property applications, accessions, deaccessions, and loan management. The Senior Manager fosters a positive workplace through mentorship and direction and establishes collaborative relationships across the organization to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the registration department. RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and direct all aspects of ROM’s registration activities and staff. Manage a team responsible for acquisitions, Cultural Property applications, accessions, deaccessions, loans, registration aspects of travelling exhibitions, condition reporting, collections travel, copyright, collections insurance, and intellectual property. Collaborate closely with the Chief of Collections Care, Senior Manager of Conservation, Manager of Exhibit Preparation and Maintenance, Exhibitions staff, and the Co-Chief Curators of Art & Culture and Natural History. Guide and coach the team for equitable and judicious work allocation, aligning the department with institution-level goals and strategies. Create, communicate, and implement policies and procedures within the department. Support professional development and growth within the registration department. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws, participate in insurance claims and renewals, and collaborate on contracts for travelling exhibitions.
