Support Worker North Shields - office based at Railway terrace however will be working in community in North Tyneside primarily Wallsend and Forest Hall Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw) Mon to Fri 9am till 5pm with weekend telephone welfare calls once a month (Toil back) Pay £10.90 per hour (salary £21,314 per annum) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan Home, a place where you belong Want to be part of a team that really cares and empowers you to help change a customer’s life for the better? As our Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our UASC customers who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking children between the age of 16 and 18, helping them develop skills to live more independently in the community whilst awaiting their asylum claim being processed. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Amazing we know! Typical day as our Support Worker Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans. Customer group - Our customers are unaccompanied asylum-seeking children 16- to 18-years-old who are under the care of the Local Authority and are housed and supported by an amazing small team of support staff. Helping customers with daily living activities such as attending college, making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy, supporting to home office interview, solicitors’ interview and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able. Carrying out risk backssments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here!
