Join ROM Governors as the Director, Sponsorship , and play a pivotal role in our ambitious fundraising campaign to elevate the ROM as a leading 21st-century museum. ROM Governors is a strategic partner to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), passionate about its role in advancing ROM’s mission through inspired philanthropic and sponsorship relations. ROM Governors is committed to being the country’s top cultural foundation because of its success in building highly engaged, impactful donor and other community relationships. POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Vice President, Community, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, the Director, Sponsorship is instrumental in our fundraising efforts. This role involves innovative strategy development and implementation, coupled with the cultivation of meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Director will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and retaining major support for the Museum through marketing partnership opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned sales professional with excellent communication skills, adept at delivering compelling presentations, and skilled in negotiation. A strategic thinker and effective leader, the Director will play a crucial role in expanding the Sponsorship portfolio and acting as its champion both internally and externally. RESPONSIBILITIES: Fundraising Strategy and Execution: Collaborate with the Vice President, Community, Corporate and Foundation Partnerships to develop and implement effective strategies to achieve ambitious sponsorship targets ranging from $50,000 to over $1 million. This includes working closely with Museum colleagues to understand opportunities that align with corporate and foundation partners' interests.
