Houselink and Mainstay Community Housing (HLMS) is Toronto’s largest non-profit supportive housing provider. Our organization is the result of a recent amalgamation between the former Houselink Community Homes and Mainstay Housing. As a joined organization, w e currently manage nearly 60 residential locations and more than 1,100 units across the City of Toronto, serving individuals with complex mental illness and addictions. We work closely with sector partners to deliver programs and advocate for solutions that will address homelessness. Our work is rooted in the understanding that housing is a human right and plays a vital role in health and well-being. Supportive Housing Worker 06 Months Contract 1 Position35 hours weekly $51,010 Annually Bargaining Unit Position We are an essential service and the incumbent will be required to be at the office and in the community. Personal protective equipment and COVID-19 protocols are in place as per Public Health guidelines. Role Responsibilities : Assist tenants living with serious mental illness, which can include addictions, in achieving successful long-term tenancy outcomes by: De-escalating crises and conflicts; Providing emotional and practical support, including basic needs: e. g. grocery shopping, facilitating internal food bank distribution and vaccine clinics backssing the needs of tenants through regular, meaningful communication and wellness checks; Supporting tenant involvement in decision-making processes; Educating tenants of their responsibilities under the Residential Tenancies Act as well as their rights; Addressing breaches of the lease agreement and the RTA; Appearing at the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board as required; Working with tenants and any supports, such as case managers they might have, to develop and implement significant housing support.
