Primary Functions: We are looking for an individual who has a strong desire to provide our residents with a better quality of life and an ability to promote social interaction- among residents. The successful candidate will be capable of implementing and running a variety of recreation programs without direct supervision. They will demonstrate empathy, patience and respect while working with residents, families and other team members. Under the direction of the Director of Active Living, assists in the implementation of recreation programs to meet the various physical, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents. Programs might include exercise classes, social activities, games and events as assigned by the Director of Active Living. You may also be tasked with assisting the Director of Active Living with administrative duties including creating posters or other communications. The applicant should have previous experience working with seniors, be comfortable leading small to medium sized group programs, engaging in one-on-one visits and taking the initiative when working alone. Completion of a recognized program in recreation or equivalent is preferred. Qualifications and Experience Experience in a residential care setting is preferred Completion of high school diploma Valid provincial class 4 driver's license is an asset Completion of CPR and First Aid is an asset Safe Food Handling Certificate and.
