Job Summary: Van-Kam Freightways is currently seeking an apprentice Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Victoria, BC. As a trailer mechanic you will be responsible the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation. This is a Monday-Friday full-time position from 7:00am-3:30pm. About Us: Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U. S. and Eastern Canada. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair trailer components, including brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, and tires. Conduct routine maintenance tasks. Repair or replace damaged trailer parts and components. Keep accurate records of all inspections, repairs and maintenance performed on each trailer. collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and solve complex trailer issues. Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while working on trailers. Required Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written Strong analytical and problem-solving skills A strong customer service attitude.
